Wednesday, 27 December 2017 – Tuesday 2 January 2018 (7 days)
This class is intended for speakers of Greek as a second language who are able to read short stories in Greek and to engage in conversations about them. This ‘adventure’ will be an opportunity to dust off and to improve your Greek, to learn about Greek Christmas traditions and – at the same time – to get to know a small Aegean island outside of the usual summer tourist period.
We will read Greek fairy tales and short pieces of literature focused around Christmas and New Year’s Day. We will also participate in various New Year’s traditions, including cooking and eating local foods based on the Mediterranean diet. We will enjoy the local winter landscape and the atmosphere of the island at this time of the year.
