The guesthouse and rooms in Ikaria

Our guesthouse is located in a location with a fantastic view, which remains quiet and peaceful even during the period of time when the crowd of the summer floods the island. Each of our guests has their own private 20m2 room in the Ikarian Center guesthouse. All rooms have heating, are equipped with a private bathroom and a small kitchenette and can accommodate up to two people. High-speed Internet is available in the rooms and in all areas of the facility, both indoor and outdoor

Cost

For the cost consult the reservation calendar. The cost, before the last weekend of July and after August 31st*, covers:

• Participation in the activities we organize: Traditional dance lessons (once per week), lectures and slide shows, cooking evenings, Greek songs, walking and hiking excursions, visits to artisans etc. (Visits to wineries for wine tastings has cost is paid extra, directly to the winery).
• Two simple meals per day from Monday to Friday**. Please note that we do not offer breakfast, but you can prepare your breakfast in the kitchenette of your room, which is equipped with the necessary things (fridge etc.)
• Local transportation to the beaches and Evdilos, the central settlement and port of northern Ikaria.

* From the last weekend of July and throughout the month of August, no activities or local transportation are organized, nor food or breakfasts are offered.
** In February and March a simple meal is served every noon, four times a week.

Accommodation for couples or friends traveling together

If you are coming with a fellow traveler, you can share the room with them for an extra cost of 15€ per day (9€ from January to March). During hiking weeks, the cost is given per person, regardless of whether you share the room with a fellow traveler or not.

Do I have to rent a car?

Ikaria does not have public transport and taxis are expensive and not easily available. In the center we offer free transfers to the port of Evdilos, the surrounding settlements and in the summer to the nearby beaches. So it is not necessary to rent a car. However, if you want to be free to explore the island, you can rent a car or a scooter for a few days or the entire duration of your stay. You can rent a car after your arrival in Ikaria. We do not organize transfers during the period of August. If you are coming in August you will have to come with your own means or rent a car or scooter many weeks in advance. At the last minute it will be difficult to find a vehicle available.
