Greek language courses for absolute beginners

If you want to learn from scratch how to read and write, also how to combine verbs, adjectives and nouns together in order to build simple sentences in Greek language, you can start learning Greek by choosing one of one week-long Greek language courses for absolute beginners we organize. It is a rather intensive course lasting from Monday to Saturday (6 lessons within the week). If you are a fast learner you can stay for more than one week. The lessons are aimed at absolute beginners who cannot write and read texts in modern Greek, also cannot participate in simple conversations where someone introduces himself and his family by answering simple questions such as: Πού μένεις; / από πού είσαι; / έχεις παιδιά; / πώς σε λένε; / που δουλεύεις; / πόσων χρονών είναι ο γιός σου;

Cost

• Tuition fee: 630€/student/week, 420€/student/week for more than one weeks
• Accommodation in private room (optional): 280€ / week (from Sunday to Sunday) / room + 10,5€ accommodation tax

A cost break down is appeared as you try to make your reservation via the booking calendar. Tuition includes simple meals from Monday to Friday, 12 hours of Greek language lessons / week (2 hours daily, from Mon-Sat, 5-7 AM, in classes with maximum 4 students), and other activities like hiking, picking the olives, cooking evenings, traditional dance lessons, lectures, slide shows etc. We combine beginners course with guided hikes in the trails of the area, with no extra cost. Participation in hikes is of course optional. If you are travelling with a fellow traveller, he or she is welcome in the hikes we organize, even if he is not participating in the language lessons. Hiking tours are NOT organized during the month of August, because of the high temperatures.

Combination with hikes and other activities

The lessons last every day, from Monday to Saturday, two hours each day, in small groups of up to 4 students and are given every afternoon, usually 17:00 – 19:00. In the early evening, from 19:00 to 20:30, activities are organized such as lectures and screenings, traditional dance lessons or cooking evenings. In the morning the day is free for swimming, visits to nearby settlements and hikes on the mountain. In November, our students can also participate in olive picking, if there is olive production. The course is an immerse Greek language course. By the end of the week students will create a solid base in Greek language. They will be able to read and write using the Greek alphabet, also form simple sentences in order to present themselves and participate in very simple dialogues.
