Online conversation classes in Greek

You can participate in discussion classes with a minimum of 2 participations per month. Each class has a maximum of 4 students. In the discussions, students have the opportunity to enrich their vocabulary, practice grammar and syntax structures that they find difficult.

How exactly does it work?

Students work on specific topics that they receive from their teachers and produce their own texts. The texts are sent for correction and comment a week before the scheduled discussion. The discussion revolves around the students’ texts. During the discussion, we try to consolidate the vocabulary that the students have contributed with their texts, to correct errors in grammar and vocabulary understanding. Advice and materials are also given for better consolidation of grammar, at the points where the students need it.

How to contact

The online meetings for the lessons take place on the days and times mentioned in the schedule of each lesson below, on the google meet platform. You do not need to create a google account, nor install any software on your computer to participate in the meeting. A simple browser is enough to enter the meeting, through a link that we will send you. Communication with other students and teachers is done asynchronously, in a forum on the Center’s platform. In the same forum, you post your assignments, questions you have about the lesson, and see corrections from teachers and discussions with other students.

Duration, students per class

Each lesson lasts 2 hours (120 minutes). Each class has 3 to a maximum of four students. The low number of students per class guarantees that the lesson will target the specific needs of each student, also that students will have enough time to speak during the lesson

Levels

Lessons are given for students of all levels who can already speak and understand, even with difficulty, also read and write in Greek. By submitting the interest form, you will receive a link where you can listen to different audios and answer relevant questions. If you have not attended lessons with us this year or the previous year, you will need to answer the relevant questions. This way we will be able to place you in the right discussion class

Cost – payment

The cost for your participation in each course period is 240 Euros (60 Euros / 120 minute lesson X 4 lessons). The total tuition fee is paid when you register for the courses, immediately after confirmation that you can participate in them.

Cancellations

You can get a full refund of the money you have paid for a course period if you cancel your participation up to 3 weeks before the start of the first meeting of this period. After this deadline, you cannot get a refund of the tuition fee. A meeting cannot be rescheduled to another day and time. If you are unable to participate in a meeting, you can still access the materials and online discussions.

• Trial period: There is no trial period for online discussion classes. Cancellations for students enrolling in our courses for the first time follow the cancellation policy mentioned above. Trial period with full refund of tuition fees is possible only in special online courses (one teacher – one student)

Schedule and Registration

Discussion classes are held every other week, at specific times and days, from the first week of October to the last week of March. The exact schedule is on the form in the interest form (you must first select the day you want to have classes). You can register for one or more periods of 4 lessons. If you only register for a period of 4 lessons, in order to continue you must register in time for the next period’s classes.
