Olive Harvesting & Local Culture

This unique autumn course combines our standard intensive Greek language courses with the timeless tradition of harvesting olives. Alongside daily classroom lessons, you will participate with locals in the olive harvest, experience the production process at the olive press firsthand, practice your Greek in real-world settings and get to know Ikarias’ local Culture.

Note that the olive harvest takes place every year in the fall, as long as there is fruit on the trees. It is not always a given that there will be fruit, usually the olive trees give a large production every other year. In recent years, however, climate change has affected the trees and many years there is no production at all.

A unique stay experience in Ikaria

If you would like to extend your stay at our guesthouse before or after your Greek courses, you can join us on selected dates in spring and autumn to explore parts of the island that we cannot visit during class weeks.
