Do I have to rent a car in Ikaria?

With the exception of August, you don’t need to rent a car in Ikaria, as we organize free BASIC local transfers for our guests for shopping and trips to the beach or surrounding villages. In addition, the Greek course schedule is packed with activities, most of which take place at the Centre. As a result, there is not much time each day for long excursions if you wish to participate in our program and spend time with the rest of the group. Renting a car during July and August

If you want to rent a car during the “high tourist season” (July – August), it is best to book one in advance. During the rest of the year, you can easily find a car after your arrival on the island, if you feel it’s necessary. Some car rental agencies are listed here. The cost is around 25 – 50 Euros per day, depending on the season.

Are there buses and taxis available in Ikaria?

Taxis are expensive and hard to find, and public transport simply does not exist.
